• Read any Good Books Lately?

  Welcome back to school! Come visit the library and let us know what books you read this summer. What did you like? What was just awful? While you are here, fill out a Book Recommendation form and join our display of recommended reads. I look forward to learning about some great books from you!

• Overdue Books?

  Time to bring those overdue books back - or renew them if you are still using them. In order to renew your books, you may email one of the librarians or just come ask! If you think you lost a book, please come tell us. We would love to get your library accounts all settled before summer.

• Graphic Novles/Comic Books/Manga

  Our collection of graphic novels, comics, and manga is growing steadily. Not sure where to start? Come browse the collection and see what calls out to you. Graphic novels are fiction stories told in a comic book format, but they are sometimes very serious in tone. We also have popular memoirs in this format. Manga are the Japanese comics, which have a distinct style and are popular around the world. From Spiderman to Persepolis, from American Born Chinese to Hana-Kimi, we have a comic book for you. Looking for suggestions? Ask Mrs. Abarbanel, who is a new big fan of graphic novels.

• Read a love story in February

  Why not read a love story in February? Try this year's Printz Award winner, The White Darkness by Geraldine McCaughrean. In this suspenseful thriller, Sym is in love with the famous explorer of the Antarctic, Titus Oates. She tells us, "I have been in love with Titus Oates for quite a while now - which is ridiculous, since he's been dead for ninety years. But look at it this way. In ninety years I'll be dead, too, and then the age difference won't matter." This unique page-turner is a great book to cozy up with on a cold night. Enjoy!
